A full Subbuteo stadium has appeared on eBay – but it’s not cheap

A Subbuteo fan from Bradford has listed an entire Subbuteo stadium on eBay for an eye-watering price.

The fully complete single-tier stadium includes stands surrounding the pitch, working floodlights and even fans in the stands – but comes with a hefty price tag of £1,250,

The massive lot also comes with goals and a scoreboard, but it remains to be seen if a collector will take the seller up on the offer.

The description says: “Full, complete Subbuteo stadium with painted spectators that have been glued to the stands. Each stand has between 150-200 spectators all with terrace supports.

“All terraces are grey, some come with grey supports, others with green supports. There are 16 terrace pieces in total, as well as 4 corner terraces.

“Fully working Tippkick floodlights (batteries not included) with metal goals and scoreboard all in excellent condition.

“Pitch is mounted on a foamex board and is in superb condition.

“Happy to post the item but will discuss postage options with any potential buyer. Any questions regarding the item please feel free to ask.”

The pitch and goals would typically fetch around £50 for a mint condition astroturf, while the floodlights are not official Subbuteo products but would cost around the same.

The stadium is made up of 16 terrace sections, which usually sell for around £10-£20 on eBay, as well as four corner sections of the stadium. The real value comes in the painted fans, which could be between 2,400 and 3,200 fans depending on how many there are in each terrace section.

A price of £1,250 seems steep considering the stands, pitch and goals would be expected to go for around £400 at most separately. However, fans are expensive and a couple of thousand painted fans would add another few hundred pounds to the total.

Buyers would almost certainly be paying for the convenience of a ready-built Subbuteo stadium – and a high quality one at that. We will keep an eye on it to see if it sells.
