Subbuteo club rebrands and reveals post-Covid restart date

A Subbuteo club near Southampton has rebranded as it plans for post-Covid meetings.

Solent Table Soccer & Subbuteo Club in Hampshire has rebranded with a new logo design by Westwood Table Soccer and has announced it will be launching a new member drive in preparations for new meet ups in the region.

Jason Christopher, whose Subbuteo painting business Argo Table Soccer is sponsoring the club, says: “We have done this to encourage members who play either code of (flicking) Table Soccer, or both, and to try and encourage new players, novices and experienced players of all ages and ability. We also have a new main sponsor for next season – details coming soon. Exciting times ahead, and we all look forward getting started again in May. See you soon!”

Jason has suggested any prospective new members can join the club’s Facebook page and will need to notify them before attending so that the club can ensure the meetings are Covid-compliant.

Meetings will begin on at 7pm on 19 May at the QE2 Activity Centre in Southampton, then every other Wednesday following.

Alan Lee, who runs Wobbly Hobby Shop and is a driving force behind a number of new clubs in England’s South East, said: “They have come a long way in a short time. A great model for all new Subbuteo and Table Soccer clubs in England!”

Solent Table Soccer and Subbuteo Club is one of a number of active table football clubs across the UK. There are a number of active clubs in the South East in the London and Surrey areas, while Liverpool, Manchester, North Wales and Wolverhampton also boast active clubs.
