Demand for Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp’s Funko Pop figure has risen by 50% since the Reds’ boss announced he would leave the club at the end of the season.
The popular manager, who brought Liverpool their first ever Premier League title, a Champions League, and a host of other trophies, is one of a small number of footballers and managers immortalised in Funko Pop style – in this case #54.
The Funko Pop is priced at £16 and features Klopp in Liverpool training gear and cap. Search for the figure has increased by more than 50% overnight and it is now in the top ten searched for Funko Pops in the UK, according to Google data. It joins the likes of the new Pokemon Funko Pops in the most searched-for figures from the popular toy brand.
However, Liverpool fans and Funko football collectors can also get their hands on a limited edition Klopp Funko Pop. The figure is exclusive to the Liverpool FC website and comes in a metallic red colour. It is on sale on the Liverpool website for £20 and joins the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Virgil Van Dijk in the Liverpool Funko collection.
Football teams are increasingly engaging with the Funko Pop brand. Manchester City recently created a life size Funko box for £100 million star Jack Grealish to celebrate the launch of his figure. Grealish surprised fans by bursting out of the box and handing out his very own Funko figure to supporters. The Grealish figure is priced at £11.99.
Other footballers to get the Funko Pop treatment include Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and manager Pep Guardiola, Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi and Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
