Subbutegoals: Ashley Young’s terrible corner kick for Manchester United

Poor Jose.

With a World Cup-winning giant baby in midfield, a misfiring Chilean on £500,000 per week and a fanbase getting restless, the last thing he needed was defeat at the increasingly impressive West Ham.

But that is exactly what he got, as the Hammers ran riot in a 3-1 victory that saw one of the worst United performances in years.

Here at Subbuteo.Online we’ve been bemoaning the poor standard of corner kicks in the Premier League for some time but Ashley Young’s effort has got to be the worst ever.

After waiting for an age Young stuck two hands in the air. Presumably this was to tell his teammates he was about to pass the ball directly to a West Ham player on the corner of the area without a United player within 10 yards of it.

West Ham nearly scored from the resulting interception but they must have been as confused as anybody about what exactly Young was trying.
