The simple way to light up a Subbuteo stadium for a low price

We have featured a lot of huge Subbuteo stadiums on the blog but it doesn’t always have to cost a huge amount to create a beautiful stadium.

While modern Subbuteo floodlights can light up the whole playing surface, there are other ways to add a bit of light to a Subbuteo pitch and it does not have to break the bank.

A Subbuteo fan has shared a superb Stadium of Light using one simple item you can get on the high street.

Alex Vaughan shared these impressive pictures of his Stadium of Light using strip lighting to create a nice disco effect.

The modern-style playing pitch has a five-metre coil of strip lighting around the outside and it’s a new upgrade to an older table.

Alex says: “It’s just strip lighting fitted without adjustments. It’s my first table since I was 14 years old and I basically copied from memory. Although we didn’t have strip lighting in those days! I’m 45 now!”

Alex even glued the pitch with wallpaper paste as his Dad did in the 1980s for an added dose of nostalgia – and a reminder Subbuteo does not have to be expensive or flashy to get a great-looking set up that is unique and stylish.
