SubbuteoFest 2022 nears as UK set to welcome massive Subbuteo fair and tournament

The biggest Subbuteo event of the year is set to arrive in a few days as the doors open to SubbuteoFest 2022.

A historic festival of Subbuteo, the event will host the first official Subbuteo tournament in the UK since the 1990s and hundreds of attendees will also be able to buy and sell Subbuteo, play games and enjoy evening entertainment in a massive celebration of all things table football.

The Subbuteo collector’s fair, tournament and nightly entertainment in local bars is branded as one of the largest Subbuteo events of its kind in the country and fans of the flick-based table sport will be descending on Haverhill in Sussex to share their passion for the game.

Hosted by Haverhill Rovers Table Football Club and supported by the English Subbuteo Association, it will be held on Saturday 30th July and Sunday 31st July 2022 at the Samuel Ward Academy.

The weekend-long event includes a modern day flat-base tournament, an old-school ‘flats’ tournament using the original celluloid Subbuteo players sold when the game first arrived 75 years ago, and a special 75th anniversary tournament using official Subbuteo accessories.

The 75th anniversary tournament is the first officially-branded tournament to be played on UK shores for over two decades after it received backing from brand licensee Longshore, which has also provided five official SubbuteoFest pitches and unique silver tournament balls for the event. Trophies are also official Subbuteo branded trophies and will be handed out to winners of the events.

For the more casual players and collectors there will be a collector fair on both days of the event, as well as TFI Subbuteo, a night of fun and games in the local pub on Saturday night hosted by SubbuteoCollector Stewart Grant and with guests including Subbuteo.Online editor Stephen Hurrell.
