Top Trumps 2024 Top 200 names surprise Englishman as world’s best player

Jude Bellingham is the best player in the world ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, according to a new set of collectable cards from Top Trumps.

The classic card game has announced a new Top 200 set and Real Madrid’s Champions League-winning Englishman is the highest rated player on the game with a value of £150 million. The score is higher than Lionel Messi (£35) and the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who will appear in later sets.

It is also higher than Balon D’or favourite Vinicius Jr despite the Brazilian scoring a crucial second goal in the Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund last week.

The list includes 200 of the best players in the world across men’s and women’s football, with 32nd-placed Polish star Ewa Pajor ranking the highest amongst the women’s cards.

The Top Trumps Top 200 set does not include every top player in the world yet. There are five more packs set to be released and fans will need to buy all of them at a total price of £48 to complete the whole set. However, the first pack can be used to play a full game of Top Trumps on its own.

Top Trumps cards work by placing a card on the table and then choosing an attribute from the card – goals, price, ranking, caps, trophies and other statistics. Players then attempt to beat that score with a card of their own.

Top Trumps says: “With Top Trumps World Football Stars Top 200, it costs just £48 to collect all 200 players across six packs. Even one pack can be played alone and still gives a game full of some of the world’s best players, facts and stats. There is also no need for trading and swapping, as there are packs released each month.

“There will be six packs launching over six months. Top Trumps World Football Stars Top 200 Pack One (RRP £8) and Starter Kit (RRP £14.99) are available now.”

The first set of Top Trumps is on sale now here.
