Subbuteo is set to launch its first new accessories set for several years – and it’s an entirely new item for Subbuteo fans.
The controversial addition of VAR to the Premier League in the 2019/20 season was not a popular move with fans but Subbuteo has always prided itself on offering authentic-style accessories ranging from police horses to TV stancions.
Now it will sell a Subbuteo VAR set for the first time after new license holder Longshore announced the news via its Twitter account.
The set may not be completely new; it looks to use the fourth official set sold by previous license holders and it may be that the company is simply shifting older stock.
However, there will be an additional of a VAR screen in the set that is sure to prove a popular new item in the limited new Subbuteo range.

Previous new accessories such as the Winter Pitch have been snapped up by fans of the game who are eager for new items on sale and the latest announcement should prove to be a popular one – even if VAR is not something real football fans like to see on the pitch.
It is not the first time Subbuteo and VAR have crossed paths. Fans have previously 3D printed VAR sets for Subbuteo including the VAR van and pitchside monitor.
However, this is the first time it will be offered as an official Subbuteo accessory.
It follows the relaunch of Subbuteo with a new TV advert and two new box sets – and official England set and a generic red and blue box set.
Subbuteo is promising new teams, new box sets and new accessories as part of its new era and this could be the first of a number of announcements from the brand.
