The first Subbuteo La Leggenda Platinum Edition is already on eBay

The first Subbuteo La Leggenda Platinum Edition has appeared on eBay just days after the new heavyweight set went on sale.

The Subbuteo La Leggenda Platinum Edition is the newest Subbuteo to be launched on license by Hasbro and the first new team is Italy’s 1982 World Cup winners. The sets are being sold only in Italy as part of a weekly magazine sold alongside Gazzetta Dello Sport.

One Italian buyer has already listed the first team, which is being sold for 6.99 Euros, and the accompanying magazine on eBay in the hope buyers from the UK and beyond will pay for the impressive-looking sets.

The Subbuteo La Leggenda Platinum Edition has been listed for 9.99 Euros as a starting price but delivery is a hefty 14.50 Euro, making it close to £20 in English sterling to buy the team as it is.

The seller has not included the magazine that comes with the team, which would bump up the value in the eyes of a collector, but there is bound to be some takers for the edition due to its quality and rarity outside of Italy.

The La Leggenda Platinum Edition is based on the old Subbuteo heavyweight range and a new team will be sold every week for between 6.99 Euros for the first week rising to 12.99 Euros by the third set. Each team will be based on a historic international team and accessories such as referees, goals and other items will be included as the week progresses.

Other teams set to be released include Spain 2010, England 1966 and Brazil 1994 and the makers have promised modern teams from the 2018 World Cup. These are likely to be winners France and possibly runner up Croatia – a set that should attract plenty of attention.

The new range is the third in the La Leggenda series after international lightweight and club lightweight sets were launched in the last ten years.
