There is something beautiful about a complete Subbuteo stadium.
The red and blue two-tier Subbuteo stands are arguably the most popular around and a single stand in good condition can fetch around £30 for eBay. That means to complete a full stadium would cost upwards of £300 for stands on all sides of the pitch.
Then you add in floodlights, pitch surrounds and the ultra-expensive fans to give the stadium some atmosphere and it is probably a project that will take several months or years to complete for the average collector.
However, if you can’t wait that long a full Subbuteo stadium complete with ten of the red and blue grandstands, as well as four more modern Zuego corner and end has been listed on eBay with a starting price of just £250.
The price would be cheap for the stands alone but the lot also comes with unpainted supporters, the Greek-style pillar floodlights and pitch surrounds. If you have a pitch and a couple of teams this stadium is ready to go.
There are a few catches. The stadium is on sale to UK buyers only and the seller would prefer collection from Selby in Yorkshire or you’re facing a hefty delivery cost. The auction also ends in a day so you’ll have to act quickly.
Full stadiums being sold on eBay are not rare but one at such a low starting price and almost completely made up of blue and red stands are rare, especially at this price.
