Adidas is showing no signs of easing up on the Subbuteo-themed trainers launches as the collection grows to four pairs.
A pair of blue and orange Adidas Munchen with Rangers Subbuteo players inside is the latest launch and an obvious addition after the arrival of the green Celtic trainers earlier this month.
The trainers join a blue Handball Spezial pair and a maroon Bradford City-inspired set of Gazelles in the Adidas range.
The trainers manufacturer is targeting the nostalgia market with the Subbuteo trainers, with each pair hosting a Subbuteo player design inside. Outwardly they show no signs of the player but fans of the associated clubs are unlikely to mind as more are being launched exclusively at JD Sports.
At £75 a pair they are not cheap, and some fans have complained about the thick gum sole on the designs, but the latest blue and orange set are likely to appeal to Rangers fans who are still celebrating an historic Scottish Premiership title.
The addition of the blue and orange Munchen trainers to the ‘Subbuteo’ range bring it to four in total with the likelihood more are going to arrive in future. You can buy them here.
Of course, the new Adidas range is not the first time Subbuteo has appeared on trainers. Adidas previously released the Trim Trabb Subbuteo, which were green with white markings to match a classic Subbuteo pitch. The trainers had orange highlights and came in a box with three Adidas Subbuteo balls that were not sold separately.
