Antonio Conte makes major Spurs summer signing – two Subbuteo tables

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is already splashing the cash this year after guiding the club to the Champions League in his first season in charge of the London club.

The Premier League and Serie A winner has received a very special delivery at Tottenham in order to prepare for next season – two top of the range Subbuteo pitches for the Spurs training centre. Conte is a huge fan of using Subbuteo as a training aid and after previously ordering tables to be set up at Juventus and Inter he has now secured two tables for his latest club.

Italian Subbuteo producer Astrobase has confirmed two of its tables were delivered to Conte complete with top-of-the-range Astrobase pitches and teams that include Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool so that Conte can demonstrate his tactical ideas.

Astrobase says: ” We are proud to have received from Tottenham Hotspur FC the order for two customized tables for their Training Centre. Boss Antonio Conte commissioned them to have them in his meeting room, just as he always had Subbuteo when he was at Juventus and Inter Milan.”

The pitches include a Spurs badge in the centre circle and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium branding on the edges.

The pitch and table are called The Gamer and are sold with a choice of Astropitch or FT pitches. The rubber-backed Astropitch is one of the most popular on the market and is designed to be similar to the original official Subbuteo astropitch sold decades ago.

The FT pitch is a faster surface designed for tournament play. Designed by champion player Saverio Bari in Reggio Emilia, it is used in Italy’s SubbuteoLand, which is a hub for the more serious side of the modern game.
