Arsene Wenger’s Subbuteo figure even includes the massive Arsenal coat

Have you ever wanted Arsene Wenger, complete with massive jacket, to prowl your Subbuteo touchline?

One Subbuteo fan has decided that is exactly what he wants and has created the ex-Arsenal manager in intricate detail. Right down to the massive bubble coat that became notorious for a number of wardrobe malfunctions caught on camera.

Arsene may have looked ludicrous failing to get his hand in his pocket in the coat but he’s definitely an upgrade on the standard Subbuteo managers, who sit slumped down on the bench with the substitutes.

Ian Maskell, who created the mini Subbuteo works of art, doesn’t just have Arsene Wenger in his collection. A quick glance reveals Brian Clough and his famous green jumper, Rafa Benitez in his suit, Pep Guardiola’s neat cardie and tie combo and even, for some reason, Neil Warnock.

Ian kindly told us about his creations: “I use blank figures & modelling clay and just manipulate figures into position and paint.”

Sadly, the figures will not be for sale anytime soon. He says: “A local footie retro shop were interested in selling my work but cost was to low to me to make it worth my while. I’ve just finished a Neil Warnock figure!”

We love the figures and can’t wait to give Subbuteo managers a go ourselves. If you have any interesting creations to enhance the game send them to us using the form on the right (or at the bottom of the page on mobile).
