Incredible bidding war on massive Subbuteo lot on eBay

There is a ridiculous bidding war taking place over a massive set of Subbuteo on eBay.

The British Heart Foundation has listed an incredible 42 heavyweight Subbuteo teams on the popular auction website and bidding has now gone through the roof for the massive haul.

With four days to go the job lot is now the most bid on item from Subbuteo on the whole of eBay, with 44 bids pushing the price up to an eye-watering £350 at the time of writing.

Amazingly, the description does not even tell us what teams are included in the lot or what condition they are in but scrawled names on the boxes give a hint about what is inside.

We could make out a collection of national teams including rarities such as El Salvador, Peru, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Sweden and Chile.

Zaire and Haiti are two teams that could fetch big amounts if they are actually in the box given their rarity in the collector’s world, while Australia is likely to spark some interest too. The former two have previously sold for around £25 each on eBay, while an Australia team recently sold for £42.

Club teams include Juventus, Barcelona and Ajax, and more standard teams such as Coventry, Liverpool and Stoke are also included in the lot.

The listing also includes a Continental Edition box set that looks in good condition and a grand stand with spectators. At just over £8 per team and £50 worth of extras thrown in, the current price is a good one.

The bad news is it is unlikely to stay so low. You can see it here.
