New 2024 England Subbuteo World Cup Pitch set to go on sale but in very limited numbers

The new England FISTF Subbuteo World Cup pitch for 2024 will go on sale after it was revealed at SubbuteoFest23.

The Subbuteo festival, which featured a number of tournaments and a collector’s fair last weekend, saw the reveal of the pitch that will be used when England hosts the table football World Cup next year.

The pitch has been created by premium table football maker Extreme Works and is based on their top-end astroturf pitch. The pitch is designed by the English Subbuteo Association’s Peter Holmes and features some nice design touches including concentric circle pattern, the FISTF World Cup mascot and Tunbridge Wells and World Cup wording.

The pitch has proved a hit with fans of the table top sport, with contestants at SubbuteoFest23 agreeing to play the IO tournament final on the surface.

Subbuteo fans are now keen to get their hands on the pitch and the English Subbuteo Association plans to release pre orders for the pitch in the next few days. However, the initial order run will be just 20 pitches meaning demand is going to be high for the first edition.

As it stands only a single version of the pitch exists. The first ever pitch was the one displayed at SubbuteoFest23.

Extreme Works plans to build 64 new Subbuteo tables featuring the pitch for the World Cup tournament, which returns to the home of Subbuteo in Kent for decades. The tournament includes a glitzy opening ceremony, live streaming of the action across four tables and a massive collector’s fair featuring 30 tables.
