This man has a perfect Goodison Park replica for his Subbuteo stadium

Have you ever seen a Subbuteo stadium look this good?

Philip Hammel is a long-suffering Everton fan from San Diego and while Goodison Park may be thousands of miles away he has his own incredibly detailed creation to remind him of the Grand Old Lady herself.

After sharing the video on Facebook Philip kindly allowed us to feature the Goodison Park replica, which he plays Subbuteo on in his own Everton-themed bar.

The beautifully-lit stadium captures the spirit of Goodison Park and is a fitting home for Subbuteo, given the massive Main Stand is a relic from the days when the game was all heavyweight hand-painted figures.

Take a look at the replication of the famous Archibald Leitch criss-cross patterns on the Bullens Road stand and the old pillars in the Gwladys Street.

Philip has even revealed he plays Subbuteo with the stands. He says: “My buddy and i play with the stands. it definitely adds more of a challenge (especially standing behind the Main Stand) and at times can be a bit frustrating but overall I love playing with the stands. It eats up the ball and players flying off the pitch.”

For a little added atmosphere he also pipes in crowd noises from Everton games. He says: “I really feel like you’re playing inside Goodison Park. And we can do night games with the floodlights on or day games with the sun creeping onto the pitch over the Park End. ”

And if all else fails: “I have beer on tap at my Everton bar. It’s overall my happy place!”

The stadium was built by model builders at Replica Football and Rugby Stadium Models.
